Nigel Confirms Mia Michaels’ departure from SYTYCD October 16, 2009 1 Comment

Mia MichaelsIt’s true. Nigel Lithgoe has confirmed=( I’m sooo devastated that mia michael’s has decided to leave SYTYCD!! She was my favorite choreographer on the show, and a HUGE reason why I got so hooked on it. I always looked forward to her routines, because they were always so inspired and passionate.

Nigel’s announcement:

“We are thrilled to have given a talent such a Mia Michaels a platform to create Emmy Award-winning choreography,” he said in a statement. “During the auditions this season, she has helped chose the best, most diverse top 20 we have ever had. She knows that she is always welcome to return later this season or next. She’s chosen to move on to new challenges, and we will continue to support her and wish her all the best.”

The official reasons for Mia’s departure are still unclear, but rumor has it – she may be leaving the American version of the show to join SYTYCD in another country. In a last desperate effort, let’s all tweet to Mia @MMRAW and beg her to stay!!!!

As a tribute to her, here are some of my favorite Mia Michaels’ Routines:

Petition to Cast Whitney Port as young Lily Bass on Gossip Girl! October 14, 2009 No Comments

Is it just me, or does Whitney Port from “The City” look insanely similar to Kelly Rutherford who plays Lily Bass on Gossip Girl!?

You decide:

Kelly and Whitney

Kelly Rutherford & Whitney Port

The failed/shelved Gossip Girl spinoff had actress Brittany Snow playing young Lily in the 80s… but she just wasn’t believable and seemed like a completely different character. There was no connection whatsoever between that spinoff and Gossip Girl. Which is why I’d love to petition to recast the part of young Lily and give the part to Whitney Port! Hey, why not give it a spin?! haha.. I know I know, Whitney’s not a ‘real’ actress… she’s on reality tv. But come on, MTV reality shows are pretty much scripted anyway.

I loved the concept of the Gossip Girl spin off, and seeing more of Lily and Rufus when they were younger, but I just didn’t like Britney Snow as Lily Bass. Not only did her acting not match the character, she totally reminds me of the olsen twins… right? It’s so distracting!

Tweetswirl’s Live Preview October 9, 2009 No Comments

Picture 3Hello world! I am pleased to introduce you all to Tweetswirl!

Tweetswirl is a real-time social content site that allows you to follow topics in real-time with filters that are deeply customized to allow you to discover more of what you’re looking for.

There are many twitter content aggregation sites out there – and they’re either quantity focused, with shallow search filters, or they rely on the users to set their own twitter feeds.

Tweetswirl takes a different spin on things. We are dedicated to creating customized pages by researching to find all the right filter terms and valuable content that fans are truly interested in, and serving it in a clean, user-friendly interface. Sure, it will take some more time and effort to build out our site, but it will result in a much more rich and engaging experience, allowing people to discover more relevant content they are interested in.

Please note that we’re just starting out. We decided to launch our site with only three shows, and minimal features — to give people a taste of what’s to come and gather early feedback and suggestions. We have a lot more features in the oven, and we’re also working on fixing the technical hiccups. We’re a small team, and this is our very first start up together. Thank you for your support and patience as we come out of our shell.

Please check back often, as we are working quickly to enhance the experience and add new features.

If you haven’t already, go check it out Tweetswirl now!!
