SYTYCD Choreographers Finally Brought It! November 21, 2009 3 Comments
I was a little worried for SYTYCD when Mia Michaels (@MMRAW) left the show, and the first three performance shows of SYTYCD were just… satisfactory.
But, this past week, So You Think You Can Dance Season 6 finally WOWs. *phew*
The Top 14 performance episode was the first episode this season that really impressed me and reminded me why I LOVE SYTYCD.
However, the criticism towards the dancers from Nigel is pretty annoying. He’s trying to blame it on the dancers, but honestly.. I think he’s just trying to cover up for the fact that it’s the quality of the choreography that’s inconsistent and lacking. I have noticed the show is trying out a lot of new choreographers this season. They are trying to make up for Mia Michaels’ absence… and they probably also want to make sure that the success of the show doesn’t fall so heavily on one choreographer in the future.
Nigel (@dizzyfeet) said the dancers finally brought it. In my opinion, the dancers this season have always been awesome… and btw, I thought Ellenore’s solo ROCKED.
The statement should be: “The choreographers finally brought it!” Not to take away from the fact that there are quite a few amazing choreographers that are consistently brilliant, like Napoleon and Tabitha D’uomo (@nappytabs), Tyce Diorio (@tycediorio), Travis Wall (@TravISova), Wade Robson, and some awesome new additions like Stacy Tookey and Nakul Dev Mahajan… there’s definitely a lot of talented choreographers on the show, but there are also some mediocre ones.
I’m looking forward to seeing how it goes this week. In the meantime, here are my three absolute favorite routines of this episode:
Dancers: Kathryn McCormick and Jonathan “Legacy” Perez
Choreography: Paso Doble by Tony Meredith
Song: “Persuit” from Cirque du Soleil
Performance Show: Nov. 17th
Dancers: Ellenore Scott and Ryan Di Lello
Choreography: Contemporary routine by Travis Wall
Song: “Your Ex-Lover is Dead” by Stars
Performance Show: Nov. 17th
Dancers: Ashleigh Di Lello and Jakob Karr
Choreography: Hip-Hop Routine by Tabitha and Napoleon D’umo
Song: “Whatcha Say” by Jason Derulo
Performance Show: Nov. 17th

Everyone could use a little “Glee” in Their Life 1 Comment
Glee is the absolute BEST new show on TV this season!
When I first heard about it, I expected it to appeal only to the younger “High School Musical” crowd. But after watching the first episode, I was completely surprised. This show actually comes from the creator of Nip/Tuck, an edgy drama about plastic surgeons in Miami… and it shows.
Glee Promo:
The show is honest, clever, and hilarious – with an edgy feel. You instantly grow attached to the captivating characters in this show. Glee keeps a smile on your face, and makes you laugh out loud at comical awkward moments… all while being deep and uplifting.
Here’s my attempt to draw you in, and get you hooked… because I think EVERYONE could use a little “Glee” in their life.
Five Reasons You’ll Love the Show:
1) The love triangle between Finn, Rachel, and Quinn.
Rachel is the leading lady of the Glee club, and has a HUGE crush on Finn, who is with Quinn. Quinn is pregnant with Puck’s baby, but made Finn think the baby is his.
Here’s a music video style solo of Rachel singing “Take a Bow”
2) Emma Pillsbury’s crush.
Emma Pillsbury is the high school guidance counselor, and she has a huge schoolgirl crush on Mr. Shuester, the Glee teacher, who is married. Jayma Mays plays Emma, and is so likeable, you really want her to get the guy.
3) The music and performances are perfection!
4) Sue Sylvester, the coach of the Cheerios you will love to hate!
5) The amazing cast, who never fails to make you smile — is also accessible on TWITTER!

SYTYCD Season 6 changes November 15, 2009 No Comments
So You Think You Can Dance started out with a bang this season, when they decided to try something different and dedicated an episode to showcasing the top 20 dancing in their own styles.
After watching this episode, I was completely floored… the level of talent on the show this season is freakin amazing!
My favorite of the group routines is this Wade Robson routine:
and this Tyce Diorio contemporary routine:
But after watching the next few episodes, I was honestly a little let down. I think my expectations were SO high after seeing that top 20 episode, so I was expecting to be blown away.
I think it’s clear that the talent of the dancers are definitely superior this year. However, can they get enough new talented choreographers to fill the void of Mia MIchaels? I hope so!
