Twitter is buzzing about Kara Dioguardi’s Maxim shoot February 14, 2010 1 Comment

Twitter is buzzing about Idol Judge Kara Dioguardi’s Maxim shoot.

Although this isn’t the FIRST time Kara Dioguardi has showed off her awesome bod, I think it still comes as a surprise to people.

For those of you who missed it last time, here’s a picture of her busting out of her dress at the Idol Finale last season as a joke:

Check her out yourself. Behind the scene footage from her Maxim shoot:

Lydia Paek & Andrew Garcia FAP ‘09 February 13, 2010 1 Comment

While searching for more of Andrew Garcia on youtube, I came across a video of this amazing girl named Lydia Paek:

She looked kind of familiar, and then I realized I had seen her before on season 3 of America’s Best Dance Crew! The Boxcuttuhz:

This girl is so multi-talented. She should try out for American Idol and become a star!!!

American Idol Fail — Sweet Escape from Hell Week February 11, 2010 No Comments

I’m usually not a huge fan of watching the group challenge during Hollywood week because it’s usually just a whole lot of drama: the big bossy egos come out, people break down, and a lot of great singers are set up for failure.

Why the heck did they make “Sweet Escape” by Gwen Stefani one of the song choices? Goodness! After watching last night’s episode, I have a new found respect for Gwen Stefani.

Check out how badly these idol hopefuls botched their songs, especially when it comes to “Sweet Escape”:

Tweetswirl’s Tues Night Idol Favs! February 10, 2010 1 Comment

I picked my three favorite guys and girls from tonight’s episode of American Idol. So if you don’t have the time to watch the show over and over on DVR until 2am like some ppl… you can just catch my recaps of the good stuff!

MY TOP THREE FAVORITE LADIES

DiDi Benami sang “Terrified” by Kara Dioguardi

This girl, DiDi is unbelievably talented. Her voice gives me chills. To top it off, she is incredibly humble and seems to have no idea how amazing she is. Makes me want to vote for her. So far, she’s my front runner!

Janell Wheeler sang “american boy” and it was such a beautiful version of it, I had to listen to it a couple more times. Word on the street is, this girl has dated NFL’s Tim Tebow. ooh lala!

Haeley Vaughn is a “country pop” singer, which happens to be all the rage nowadays thanks to Taylor Swift. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this girl at first. She has a unique sound to her voice that could be borderline annoying. In fact, the footage cut to Ellen saying “I think this girl can get annoying,” and although they didn’t say who she was referring to — I immediately assumed she was talking about Haeley. haha. anywho.. although her voice can get close to the annoying side, it might be annoying in the same way Rihanna can sound annoying sometimes. haha know what i mean? She’s interesting and memorable, and I am curious to hear more:

ON TO MY THREE FAVORITE MEN (of tonight)

Andrew Garcia is cute in a understated/nerdy way, and totally reminds me of a guy I know. This guy has heart, and you can tell he’s truly passionate about his music. Love him!

Michael Lynche missed the birth of his baby to be in Idol… When I heard that, i though… ok… he better be good. Yup… he was. He sang “Waiting on the World to Change” and it was such a feel good performance with the audience singing along in the background.

Casey James. yum! Something about him draws me in… is it his eyes? Is it because he took his shirt off in his audition? Something about a hot guy and a guitar…. Gosh, he reminds me of James a.k.a. Sawyer from LOST. Can’t…. seem… to… get him out of my head. hahaha jk jk. Anyhow, his voice is actually really nice. Def want to see more of him. =)

Tell me what you thought of the show!!

Twitter reaction to Ellen Degeneres = overwhelmingly positive! No Comments

Hollywood week is when American Idol starts getting good. YES! Finally, the shenanigans are shoved aside, and real talent begins to shine. Not only that, today was Ellen Degeneres official debut as a new judge! wooohooo!

I was honestly a little nervous about it when I first heard about Ellen coming on the show as a judge. Why? Because I saw her guest judge on SYTYCD. Not only was she too nice, she kept throwing out cheesy lines like “Are you a carpenter? Because you NAILED it!” ha ha.

Anyhow, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with her tonight. She was actually pretty funny, and not in a cheesy way. She was nice, but also wasn’t afraid to be blunt and give constructive criticism. She really brought something different to the panel that made the show that much more enjoyable.. and it seems the twitter reaction to Ellen Degeneres’s American Idol judging debut is so overwhelmingly positive! Yay, go Ellen!

Exclusive Deleted Scenes from the Bachelor February 3, 2010 No Comments

I’ve recently started watching the Bachelor and have been noticing that the editing has been getting progressively more sloppy.

Scenes that get promoted over and over again in previews often never get aired in the actual episodes. In the end they leave us wondering what REALLY happened – and people like me get stuck digging around online for the answers. ha ha.

Previews led viewers to believe there was supposed to be a “special announcement” from Jillian and Ed which never happened. It was supposed to be an announcement of their wedding date – but they changed their minds last minute.

In a preview, they showed Tenley confessing she was pregnant and then start crying, but it never aired. Check out the clip below of what really happened.

They showed all the girls with shocked expressions on their faces when Chris Harrison announced Rozlyn’s “affair” with a staffer, and decided to cut the footage of them talking about witnessing it.

Vienna is painted as the villain of this season who doesn’t get along with any of the girls, and deleted footage that shows her getting along perfectly fine with some of them. It really makes me think twice of what to believe from this show.

ABC seems to be trying to toy with viewers’ emotions through creative editing.

Check out some of these deleted scenes:

Gotta love the Patti Zingers! January 27, 2010 No Comments

Patti Stanger on Bravo’s Millionaire Matchmaker, is one of the most entertaining TV personalities out there. I could care less about the millionaires on her show and “non-gold-digging” gold diggers she sets them up with. I love watching the show for ONE reason only – Patti Zingers!!! I love how she tells it like it is!

“He’s an angry hobbit! What can I do?!”
“He has small hands, and you know what they say about men with small hands….women don’t want to ride that ride”
(about her actor client Justin Shenkarow)

A girl signing up says she’s 25. Patti replies “You’ve been 25 for 10 years.”

“No one wears a belt in LA except a twiglet, anorexic crack smoking whore”

“What happened to me? My boobs got into the room before I did”

“The minute you make a guy work for it, the boys will disappear and the men will step up”

“In the end, men always let the pecker do the picking”

“Every 10 expects a 10, and the only way you’re gonna get a 10 is if you become a 10. There’s no exception to that rule.”

“Women are like crockpots they heat up real slowly to a nice simmer, men are like microwave they go A to Z schwing.”

Daniel Franco, where did you go? American Idol, apparently 1 Comment

A random familiar face popped up in a video montage of Adam Lambert wannabes. In the montage, this guy claimed to be what you would get from a cross-breed between Adam Lambert and Susan Boyle… uhhh, I don’t see it. He’s clearly name dropping to try to get on TV, and I guess it worked.

When his face came on the screen, I got a creepy dejavu feeling, but couldn’t put my finger on whether this familiar face was from real life or the tv screen. Was this guy some douche bag I actually met in real life or someone from reality tv?

Then it dawned on me – it was Daniel Franco from seasons one and two of Project Runway! This guy was kind of a weirdo on Project Runway. He was the first to be eliminated in season one, and then somehow was allowed to come back for season 2.

So, what the heck is he doing auditioning for American Idol? Can he even sing? They didn’t even show him singing. He must be one of those LA people, trying to get on all the reality shows to see a little bit of fame.

I really wish American Idol would go back and play some footage of him actually singing – I’m sure it’d be entertaining. Or maybe AI could invite Santino Rice in to do a little guest performance of his Daniel Franco theme song, “Daniel Franco, where did you go?” or better yet – how about a duet?!

Britney Murphy dies at 32 December 21, 2009 No Comments

Britney Murphy, age 32, died early this morning after going into full cardiac arrest. It was reported that she was found unconscious in the shower by her mother this morning. When paramedics arrived, they determined the actress was in full cardiac arrest and could not be revived. They started CPR and rushed her to Cedars-Sinai medical center where she was pronounced dead.
The cause of death is questionable and an investigation has been launched into the actress’ death. Diabetes, drugs, and eating disorders are possible culprits. According to TMZ, Brittany Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack, told hospital staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center he did not want an autopsy performed on his deceased wife.
